AMA Supercross 2013 - Round 8 Atlanta

Monster Energy Supercross moved to the Georgiadome with Round 8of the AMA Supercross at Atlanta.

The track looks great, technical and tight with a heavy sand section to test the riders.

250 Heat 1 - Dean Wilson has the red plate as the points leader and takes the lead over Gavin Faith and Justin Hill.

Wilson takes out heat 1 from Faith and Jeremy Martin who qualifies for his first main.

250 Heat 2 - Pint sized Zach Bell gets off to another flyer ahead of Marvin Musquin, Will Hahn and Blake Wharton.

This is another good 250 heat battle with positions changing frequently near the front.

Eventually Hahn takes the win from Musquin, Bell goes down trying to jump inside Musquin at the last turn before the finish line jump. Wharton is third as Bell picks himself up to finish fifth.

250 Main Event - WIll Hahn gets the holeshot followed by Wilson and Musquin.

Half way through the race and Hahn has a slim two second lead over Wilson with Musquin still there in third.

At the end of the race a jubilent Will Hahn wins his first ever Monster Energy AMA Supercross race!

Results Round 8 Ama Supercross Atlanta 2013:

  3. Davi Millsaps

Point Standings after Round 8:

  1. Davi Millsaps - 174
  2. Ryan Villopoto - 152
  3. Ryan Dungey - 148
  4. Trey Canard - 135
  5. Chad Reed - 127
  6. Justin Barcia - 116
  7. Andrew Short - 102
  8. James Stewart- 100
  9. Justin Brayton - 91
  10. Matt Goerke - 79

Seems like Reed has lost his speed. He appears to be a rider the works best when confident and i'm guessing right now, he doesn't have that confidence in his dirt bike. Finally Stewart starts and finishes a full race and appears healthy and fast.

Davi Millsaps is still the man to beat, Villopoto needs more than two points a race if he's going to regain his title.
